Ministry to the Sick and Homebound
One of the roles of a Parish focuses on bringing its people into a closer relationship
with God.
In 1970, Community Outreach Programs were initiated and to-date are being reviewed,
revised and expanded. The Parish has listened and is responding.
The Church of Our Lady of Joy, is a faith community of families welcoming and supporting
each other. The Ministry to the Sick and Homebound was created to enable each person
to maintain his/her place in our parish community. If you or anyone you know are
in situations where any of the following services are needed, please contact the
Parish Office.
- Taking Eucharist to the sick and homebound
and providing the Parish
Bulletin (PDF), Pittsburgh Catholic, and Missals.
- Greeting cards mailed to sick and homebound.
- Birthday
- Holidays

- Relief for caregivers, etc.
- Provide spiritual support by weekly phone calls and/or visits to those who live
alone.
- A special Mass for the sick and homebound including anointing will be held twice
a year. The special Mass will be announced in the Sunday Parish Bulletin (PDF).
