As part of our walking with those who have experienced the loss of a loved one, we need to be supportive from the time of death, through the Funeral of Christian burial and on into the grieving process. A number of parishioners have signed up to help with prayer services at the funeral homes in the area at the times of a parishioner's death. Usually, they are accompanied by the priest, but even in his absence, they provide a prayer service for the deceased in the presence of the family and friends at the Funeral Home. It is a sign of our parish's presence and concern for the survivors, as well as our call to bury the dead with dignity and care.
