Youth Ministry
The Youth Ministry Program of Our Lady of Joy seeks to address the spiritual needs of students grades 6-12. We have two youth ministry groups; Junior Youth Ministry (JYM) for grades sixth through eighth and Sr. Youth Ministry, grades ninth through twelfth. Opportunities for spiritual development can be reached through a variety of catechetical experiences, prayer services, and Eucharistic celebrations. Youth Ministry has several distinct areas of focus, including Evangelization, community outreach, and Religious Education. Furthermore, Youth Ministry seeks to build community among the adolescents of our parish through social activities such as outings to amusement parks, the YMCA, ski facilities, and bowling allies. Schedules for JYM events are sent home with the students through CCD classes. Schedules for Sr. Youth Ministry events are mailed to all registered high school students – once in the Spring and one in the Fall. Regular meeting times for the Sr. Youth Ministry is Sunday evenings from 7:00 until 9:00 PM. JYM meets once a month according to the scheduled event.
